Sahih International
When the Occurrence occurs,Muhsin Khan
When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 
Sahih International
There is, at its occurrence, no denial.Muhsin Khan
And there can be no denying of its befalling. 
Sahih International
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].Muhsin Khan
It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 
Sahih International
When the earth is shaken with convulsionMuhsin Khan
When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 
Sahih International
And the mountains are broken down, crumblingMuhsin Khan
And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 
Sahih International
And become dust dispersing.Muhsin Khan
So that they will become floating dust particles. 
Sahih International
And you become [of] three kinds:Muhsin Khan
And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 
Sahih International
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?Muhsin Khan
So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 
Sahih International
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?Muhsin Khan
And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 
Sahih International
And the forerunners, the forerunners -Muhsin Khan
And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 
Sahih International
Those are the ones brought near [to Allah ]Muhsin Khan
These will be those nearest to Allah. 
Sahih International
In the Gardens of Pleasure,Muhsin Khan
In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 
Sahih International
A [large] company of the former peoplesMuhsin Khan
A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 
Sahih International
And a few of the later peoples,Muhsin Khan
And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 
Sahih International
On thrones woven [with ornament],Muhsin Khan
(They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 
Sahih International
Reclining on them, facing each other.Muhsin Khan
Reclining thereon, face to face. 
Sahih International
There will circulate among them young boys made eternalMuhsin Khan
They will be served by immortal boys, 
Sahih International
With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -Muhsin Khan
With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 
Sahih International
No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -Muhsin Khan
Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 
Sahih International
And fruit of what they selectMuhsin Khan
And fruit; that they may choose. 
Sahih International
And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.Muhsin Khan
And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 
Sahih International
And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,Muhsin Khan
And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 
Sahih International
The likenesses of pearls well-protected,Muhsin Khan
Like unto preserved pearls. 
Sahih International
As reward for what they used to do.Muhsin Khan
A reward for what they used to do. 
Sahih International
They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -Muhsin Khan
No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 
Sahih International
Only a saying: "Peace, peace."Muhsin Khan
But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace) ! 
Sahih International
The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?Muhsin Khan
And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 
Sahih International
[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removedMuhsin Khan
(They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 
Sahih International
And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]Muhsin Khan
Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 
Sahih International
Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,Muhsin Khan
Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 
Sahih International
And [upon] beds raised high.Muhsin Khan
And on couches or thrones, raised high. 
Sahih International
Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creationMuhsin Khan
Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 
Sahih International
Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,Muhsin Khan
Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 
Sahih International
For the companions of the right [who are]Muhsin Khan
For those on the Right Hand. 
Sahih International
A company of the former peoplesMuhsin Khan
A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 
Sahih International
And a company of the later peoples.Muhsin Khan
And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 
Sahih International
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?Muhsin Khan
And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 
Sahih International
[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding waterMuhsin Khan
In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 
Sahih International
Neither cool nor beneficial.Muhsin Khan
(That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good, 
Sahih International
Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,Muhsin Khan
Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury, 
Sahih International
And they used to persist in the great violation,Muhsin Khan
And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.) 
Sahih International
And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?Muhsin Khan
And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? 
Sahih International
And our forefathers [as well]?"Muhsin Khan
"And also our forefathers?" 
Sahih International
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoplesMuhsin Khan
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 
Sahih International
Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day."Muhsin Khan
"All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. 
Sahih International
Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,Muhsin Khan
"Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! 
Sahih International
Will be eating from trees of zaqqumMuhsin Khan
"You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 
Sahih International
And filling with it your belliesMuhsin Khan
"Then you will fill your bellies therewith, 
Sahih International
And drinking on top of it from scalding waterMuhsin Khan
"And drink boiling water on top of it, 
Sahih International
And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels.Muhsin Khan
"So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 
Sahih International
That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.Muhsin Khan
That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! 
Sahih International
We have created you, so why do you not believe?Muhsin Khan
We created you, then why do you believe not? 
Sahih International
Have you seen that which you emit?Muhsin Khan
Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 
Sahih International
Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?Muhsin Khan
Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? 
Sahih International
We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdoneMuhsin Khan
We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 
Sahih International
In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.Muhsin Khan
To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. 
Sahih International
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?Muhsin Khan
And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed? 
Sahih International
And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?Muhsin Khan
Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 
Sahih International
Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?Muhsin Khan
Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? 
Sahih International
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,Muhsin Khan
Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 
Sahih International
[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;Muhsin Khan
(Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 17, Page 219] 
Sahih International
Rather, we have been deprived."Muhsin Khan
"Nay, but we are deprived!" 
Sahih International
And have you seen the water that you drink?Muhsin Khan
Tell Me! The water that you drink. 
Sahih International
Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?Muhsin Khan
Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? 
Sahih International
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?Muhsin Khan
If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? 
Sahih International
And have you seen the fire that you ignite?Muhsin Khan
Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 
Sahih International
Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?Muhsin Khan
Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 
Sahih International
We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers,Muhsin Khan
We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world). 
Sahih International
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.Muhsin Khan
Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 
Sahih International
Then I swear by the setting of the stars,Muhsin Khan
So I swear by Mawaqi (setting or the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse). 
Sahih International
And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.Muhsin Khan
And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know. 
Sahih International
Indeed, it is a noble Qur'anMuhsin Khan
That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Quran). 
Sahih International
In a Register well-protected;Muhsin Khan
In a Book well-guarded (with Allah in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 
Sahih International
None touch it except the purified.Muhsin Khan
Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels). 
Sahih International
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.Muhsin Khan
A Revelation (this Quran) from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 
Sahih International
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferentMuhsin Khan
Is it such a talk (this Quran) that you (disbelievers) deny? 
Sahih International
And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?Muhsin Khan
And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)! 
Sahih International
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throatMuhsin Khan
Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat? 
Sahih International
And you are at that time looking on -Muhsin Khan
And you at the moment are looking on, 
Sahih International
And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -Muhsin Khan
But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol.27, Page 209] 
Sahih International
Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,Muhsin Khan
Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.) 
Sahih International
Bring it back, if you should be truthful?Muhsin Khan
Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful? 
Sahih International
And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah ,Muhsin Khan
Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), 
Sahih International
Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.Muhsin Khan
(There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise). 
Sahih International
And if he was of the companions of the right,Muhsin Khan
And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand, 
Sahih International
Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."Muhsin Khan
Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand. 
Sahih International
But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,Muhsin Khan
But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism), 
Sahih International
Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding waterMuhsin Khan
Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. 
Sahih International
Indeed, this is the true certainty,Muhsin Khan
Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. 
Sabda Rasulullah s.a.w.: “Sesiapa membaca surah Al-Waqi’ah setiap hari, ia tidak akan ditimpa kefakiran.”
Sabda Rasulullah s.a.w. : “Siapa membaca surah Al-Waqi’ah setiap malam, dia tidak akan ditimpa kesusahan atau kemiskinan selama-lamanya. (Diriwayatkan oleh Baihaqi dari Ibnu Mas’ud r.a.)
Sabda Rasulullah s.a.w. : “Ajarkanlah surah Al-Waqi’ah kepada isteri-isterimu. Kerana sesungguhnya ia adalah surah Kekayaan.” (Hadis riwayat Ibnu Ady)
Sabda Rasulullah s.a.w. : “Barang siapa yang membaca surah Al-Waqi’ah setiap malam maka dia tidak akan tertimpa kefakiran dan kemiskinan selamanya. Dan surah Al-Waqi’ah adalah surah kekayaan, maka bacalah ia dan ajarkan kepada anak-anakmu semua.”
Menurut fatwa sebahagian Ulama’ katanya: “Barangsiapa membaca surah Al-Waqi’ah pada setiap hari dan malam dalam satu majlis sebanyak 40 kali, selama 40 hari pula, maka Allah akan memudahkan rezekinya dengan tanpa kesukaran dan mengalir terus dari pelbagai penjuru serta berkah pula.”
Surah Al-Waqi’ah adalah surah yang ke -56 di dalam Al-Quran, terletak pada juzuk ke 27 dan terdiri dari 96 ayat. Dinamakan Al-Waqi’ah kerana di ambil dari lafal Al-Waqi’ah yang terdapat pada ayat pertama surah ini, yang ertinya kiamat. Di dalam surah Al-Waqi’ah ini menerangkan tentang hari kiamat, balasan yang diterima oleh orang-orang mukmin dan orang-orang kafir. Diterangkan pula penciptaan manusia, tumbuh-tumbuhan, dan api, sebagai bukti kekuasaan Allah dan adanya hari berbangkit.
Di dalam surah Al-Waqi’ah terkandung beberapa khasiat, antara lain:
- Bila orang membiasakan membaca surah ini setiap malam satu kali, maka dia dijauhkan dari kemiskinan selamanya.
- Bila di baca 14 kali setiap selesai solat Asar, maka orang yang membacanya itu akan memperoleh kekayaan yang berlimpah ruah.
- Jika di baca surah ini sebanyak 41 kali dalam satu majlis (sekali duduk), insyaAllah di tunaikan segala hajatnya khususnya yang berkaitan dengan rezeki.
- Supaya menjadi orang yang kaya sentiasa bersyukur, amalkan membaca surah ini sebanyak 3 kali selepas solat subuh dan 3 kali selepas solat Isya’. InsyaAllah tidak akan berlalu masa setahun itu melainkan ia akan di jadikan seorang yang hartawan lagi dermawan.
- Amalan orang-orang sufi, supaya dilimpahkan rezeki. Hendaklah berpuasa selama seminggu bermula pada hari Jumaat. Setiap selepas solat fardhu bacalah Surah Al-Waqi’ah ini sebanyak 25 kali sehinggalah sampai pada malam Jumaat berikutnya; pada malam Jumaat berikutnya itu, selepas solat Maghrib bacalah surah ini sebanyak 25 kali, selepas solat Isya’ bacalah surah ini sebanyak 125 kali diikuti dengan selawat keatas Nabi sebanyak 1000 kali. Setelah selesai, hendaklah ia memperbanyakkan sedekah. Kemudian amalkanlah surah ini sekali pada waktu pagi dan petang. Insya’Allah berhasil.
- Surah ini jika dibaca disisi mayat atau orang yang sedang nazak, insyaAllah di permudahkan untuk roh keluar dari jasadnya. Jika dibaca disisi orang sakit, diringankan kesakitannya. Jika di tulis, kemudian dipakaikan kepada orang yang hendak bersalin, InsyaAllah segera melahirkan dengan mudah. Boleh juga dibaca disisi orang yang hendak bersalin sebagai selusuh.
Menurut As’Syeikh Abi’l Abbas katanya
- Bila hendak mengamalkan surah Al-Waqi’ah ini, terlebih dahulu berpuasa selama 7 hari, di mulai pada hari Jumaat berakhir pada hari Khamis. Puasanya “tidak memakan sesuatu yang bernyawa / tidak makan ikan, daging, segala haiwan, hanya makan sayur-sayuran sahaja.
- Dalam 7 hari itu, sesudah solat fardhu, membaca surah Al-Waqi’ah sebanyak 25 kali. Apabila bacaan tersebut di mulai setelah solat fardhu Subuh pada hari Jumaat pertama, maka diakhirilah pembacaan Al-Waqi’ah itu pada setelah fardhu Isya’ pada Jumaat berikutnya.
- Pada malam Jumaat terakhir ini hendaklah membaca surah Al-Waqi’ah sebanyak 125 kali kemudian selawat 1000 kali.
